Elf’intration
#- Type of project: Academic – Bachelor’s degree final project in Technical Art
- Development time: 3 months
- Team size: 10 members (5 artists, 3 animators, 2 technical artists)
- Platform: PC
- Engine/Tech: Unity (C#), custom shaders with Amplitude plugin
Game concept
#- 3D stealth platformer where the player controls a rebellious Christmas elf.
- Objective: steal around fifteen gifts from a family’s house and throw them out the window.
- Gameplay revolves around a sound system: every action generates noise, with thresholds that trigger consequences.
- First threshold: the dog wakes up, starts patrolling, and reacts to sound.
- If spotted, the dog alerts the parents, leading to instant game over.
My contributions
#- Technical Artist: created VFX and handled graphical optimization.
- Programmer: developed the 3Cs (camera, character, controls), AI state machine for the dog, sound system, and animation integration.
- Game Director: managed scope, made design decisions, and coordinated the team to maintain a coherent vision.
Challenges
#- Implementing quadruped animations for the dog was particularly complex. Synchronizing animation transitions with the AI state machine (patrol, sound reaction, chase) required careful tuning to ensure smooth and believable results.
Showcase
#- Screenshots of the single house level.
- GIFs demonstrating the noise mechanics (e.g. toy vs carpet).
- Gameplay video capturing the infiltration experience.
